DIGESTIVE ENDOSCOPY UNIT

The Endoscopy unit is a special facility that offers both diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures wherein direct visualization of internal structures of the body is done using the latest fiber-optic instruments that can incorporate specialized tools. A camera within the endoscope records and projects the images into a monitor which guides the gastroenterologists to safely manipulate the scope.

Services Offered

Gastroscopy

Gastroscopy is a procedure that allows direct visualization of esophageal, gastric, and duodenal mucosa using a flexible video scope that is especially valuable when abnormalities, inflammatory, and/or neoplastic or infectious processes are suspected.

Colonoscopy

Colonoscopy is a procedure that allows direct visualization of the colonic mucosa and distal small bowel and also for therapeutic interventions such as polyp removal (polypectomy) and biopsy using a flexible video scope.

Proctosigmoidoscopy

Percutaneous Endoscopic Gastrostomy Tube Insertion

Percutaneous Endoscopic Gastrostomy is the placement of gastrostomy tube used to provide nutrition to patients requiring nutritional support. This is also a method used for the decompression of the stomach of patients with gastrointestinal obstruction.

Paracentesis

It is a procedure to extract fluid that has collected in the belly (peritoneal fluid) using a long, thin needle that is then sent to a laboratory to determine the cause of the fluid buildup.

Bronchoscopy
